Pubs N’ Grubs, Galveston’s premier adult walking food and drink tour, is excited to announce its relaunch under new ownership by Robert Alexander. Bringing a fresh chapter to the tour’s legacy, Robert infuses the experience with Pura Vida energy, deep personal ties to the island, and a commitment to celebrating Galveston’s local spirits, brews, music, and culture.

Our Story: Pubs N’ Grubs began its journey in 2017 as part of Taste of the Strand, founded by Robert’s sister, Karen. Robert supported the early tour, contributing photography, web design, social media, and tasting insights while focusing on his own life. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Karen reorganized the expanding tour into smaller themed experiences to comply with lockdown regulations. Today, she continues to operate other adult and family-friendly tours, while Robert took over the Pubs N’ Grubs theme and became fully independent on May 26, 2025.

Robert has deep roots in Galveston, visiting the island since infancy. From swimming in clear waters to exploring local piers, seafood spots, and hidden corners of the city, he has developed an intimate understanding of its culture and vibe. Now, he brings that perspective to Pubs N’ Grubs, creating tours designed for mature guests to relax, connect, and immerse themselves in the island’s character.
