Safety & Vibe Policy
Welcome to Pubs N’ Grubs Tours Galveston! We’re stoked to guide you through Galveston Island’s lively bars, pubs, and restaurants for a night of drinks and casual bar food. Our tours are strictly for mature adults (21+ only), and we’re all about keeping the vibe fun, respectful, and safe. This Safety & Vibe Policy lays out what you need to know to enjoy our tour while staying safe in Galveston’s bustling public spaces. By joining our tour, you agree to take responsibility for your own safety, behavior, and well-being. Book on our main page or Food & Drink Tour page. Loved the tour? Leave a review at our Google page to share the vibe and help us shine! Let’s crawl the pubs!
1. Mature Adults Only (21+)
No Minors, Period: Our tours are exclusively for guests 21 and older—no exceptions. You’ll need a valid, government-issued photo ID (driver’s license, passport, or military ID) to join and sip at our stops. Texas law allows bars to admit minors in some cases, but we don’t. This is our promise: a mature, adults-only experience for a chill, grown-up vibe.
ID Checks: Our guides and partner venues will check IDs. No ID, no tour, no drinks—Texas law doesn’t mess around, and neither do we. Providing alcohol to anyone under 21 is a Class A misdemeanor in Texas, with fines up to $4,000 and possible jail time.
2. Your Safety in Public Spaces
You’re Responsible for You: You assume all normal risks of being in public by joining our tour. Our guides lead the way and keep the vibe lively, but they’re not your personal security team. Act like you would in any busy Galveston neighborhood—stay aware, watch your step, and keep your stuff secure.
Public Spaces, Public Risks: Our tours hit the streets of Galveston, where you’ll mingle with locals, tourists, and maybe a sassy seagull or two. Risks like uneven sidewalks, traffic, or random strangers are on you, just like any day out in public. Wear comfy shoes and stay with the group.
Personal Belongings: Your phone, wallet, or other items are your responsibility. We’re not liable for lost, stolen, or damaged belongings, so keep them close.
3. Alcohol Consumption: Sip Smart
Your Choice to Drink: Our tours visit bars and pubs serving alcohol, but drinking is 100% voluntary. You decide what and how much to sip at each stop. Know your limits—overindulgence ruins the fun, and we won’t let it happen.
Responsible Service: Our partner venues follow Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) rules and won’t serve you if you seem intoxicated (think slurred speech, wobbly balance, or acting out). Our guides are trained to spot this too and will respectfully cut you off if needed—it’s for everyone’s safety.
Free Water: Texas law requires venues serving alcohol after midnight to offer free drinking water. We make sure water’s available at stops to keep you hydrated and safe.
No Open Containers: Texas law bans open alcohol containers in public spaces, including our walking routes. Drinks stay at the venues, and to-go drinks must be in sealed, tamper-proof containers if allowed by the venue.
4. Food and Allergies: Bar Food Basics
Casual Bar Food: Our tours feature food at select stops, but don’t expect gourmet—it’s casual bar grub, sometimes great, sometimes average. Think wings, fries, or nachos, depending on the venue.
5. Walking and Weather: Rain, Wind, or Shine
Stay with the Group: We walk through Galveston’s lively streets, which can have uneven sidewalks, crosswalks, or busy traffic. Follow your guide’s instructions, use crosswalks, and stay alert.
No Weather Cancellations: We operate rain, wind, or shine, so come prepared with weather-appropriate gear (ponchos, hats, or sunscreen). Galveston’s weather can be wild, and even pelicans or seagulls with attitude won’t stop us! By booking, you accept the risks of outdoor conditions. In rare cases of extreme weather (e.g., hurricanes), check our Terms & Conditions for updates.
6. Third-Party Interactions
Public Spaces Are Shared: You’ll share Galveston’s streets with strangers, tourists, or the occasional feisty seagull. We’re not liable for the actions of third parties, like an intoxicated passerby or a bird snagging your snack.
Photos and Videos: Tours happen in public, so you might end up in someone’s photo or video (or vice versa). If you’re camera-shy, tell your guide, and we’ll try to respect your privacy.
Handling Issues: If something weird happens (like a spilled drink or a rowdy stranger), handle it like you would anywhere in public. Our guides can help de-escalate or call authorities if needed, but you’re responsible for your actions.
7. Compliance with Texas Laws
TABC Standards: Our partner bars and pubs are TABC-licensed, following strict rules on age checks, refusing service to intoxicated guests, and safe alcohol storage. Our guides are TABC-trained to keep things compliant.
Food Safety: Venues comply with Galveston County Health District and TFER standards for food safety and sanitation. We confirm our partners have valid permits.
Public Safety: We work with Galveston authorities to keep tours safe and follow local ordinances. If law enforcement is needed (e.g., for a disruptive stranger), our guides will contact them ASAP.
8. Emergency Procedures
Medical Emergencies: If you or someone needs medical help, tell your guide immediately. We’ll call 911 if necessary and assist until help arrives. You’re responsible for any medical costs.
Incident Reporting: Got a safety concern or issue? Tell your guide right away. We’ll handle it promptly and report to authorities if required.
9. Our Vibe Guarantee
We’re here to guide you through Galveston’s bar scene with cold drinks, casual grub, and good times. Our guides are trained to keep the group safe, monitor the vibe, and ensure our venues meet Texas health and alcohol standards. If life throws a curveball (because Galveston can get wild), we’ll keep the tour rolling while prioritizing safety. We’re your guides, not your babysitters—let’s keep it fun and responsible!
